Description:

This Strategy has been developed by the Northern Investing for Health Partnership (NIfHP). The NIfHP was established by the Northern Health and Social Services Board (NHSSB) to take forward the implementation of the public health strategy for Northern Ireland - Investing for Health - published by the Government in March 2002. The Investing for Health Strategy recognised the impact that living in a cold, damp home could have on the wider health and well-being of the population. Tackling fuel poverty is identified as one of the key targets within the Investing for Health Strategy and was subsequently identified as a key area for action by the Partnership in agreeing its Health Improvement Plan 2003-08. The Strategy sought to take forward, as far as possible locally, the implementation of the Regional Fuel Poverty Strategy for Northern Ireland, issued by Government in November 2004.
