Description:

Child weight management services have been running at The children’s University Hospital since 2004.  The service aims to to reduce the BMI SDS in children who are obese and: to facilitate long-term changes required for weight maintenance and to improve psychosocial and fitness variables. The main activities include family-based learning, education and practical sessions in order to facilitate positive lifestyle changes. The service has proved very successful in reducing BMI in children over the course of 12 months.
