Revised school food standards regulations come into effect on 1 January 2015. A draft copy of the regulations is available on this page to help users to become familiar with the changes and make preparations ahead of their introduction.

A user-friendly summary of the standards and guidance to help schools and other organisations implement them is available on the school food plan website.

The revised standards, which were consulted on in March 2014, will be mandatory in all maintained schools, academies that opened prior to 2010 and academies and free schools entering into a funding agreement from June 2014.
