Powerchair football aims to provide wheelchair users with an opportunity to participate in sport. It is played in a sports hall and is an extremely challenging game similar to soccer. Kingdom Rebels Powerchair Football was set up in 2009, through the assistance of the Sports Inclusion Disability programme. The club is made up of players from Kerry and North Cork, hence the name. The club trains on a regular basis in Killarney and participated in the inaugural 2009/2010 league  championship. The club was successful in winning the league. The Association of Irish Powerchair Football (AIPF) has been recently set up in conjunction with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) to govern the sport of Powerchair football in Ireland.
