Description:

A collective of community gardens in Donegal run by community gardener Joanne Butler and currently facilitating seven gardens spreading the word of naturally growing vegetables and creating new and exciting social enterprises. The Gardens are based in Letterkenny , Dunfanaghy , Ards , Falcarragh , Gortahork , Dore and Ranafast . In total there are over 100 community gardeners taking part in weekly or monthly classes . In 2015 the community gardens have not only planned the gardens and produced some lovely fresh vegetables but have learnt how to grow without the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides. They have experimented with different feeding plans on vegetables such potatoes and carrots and put crop rotation and companion planting into action.
