Description:

NICHS is a community relations youth organisation. Each year it runs 4 core projects working with about 400 young people and more than 20 marginalised communities in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Working in partnership with communities each of our projects aims to dispel fears, address prejudices, develop relationships and help young people learn new skills to support them as they aspire to a future without constraints or restrictions. Through the provision of balanced social, recreational, educational and accredited training programmes NICHS develops young people's self-worth, self-respect and positive assertiveness. Our programmes furnish young people with the understanding and tolerance to put aside prejudice and have the courage to explore other options to the division and hostility which has been their only experience.
