Description:

Total weight (Kg) of household waste arisings per person. Household waste consists of: Waste sent for recycling and composting Waste sent to landfill Waste sent for manufacture of Refuse Derived Fuel Waste sent for reuse Waste arisings: The amount of waste collected in a given locality over a period of time. Refuse Derived Fuel: Consists largely of organic components of municipal waste (such as plastics and biodegradable waste). This can then be used in a variety of ways to generate electricity, most commonly as an additional fuel used with coal in power stations or in cement kilns. Waste reused: the amount of municipal waste sent for reuse has been calculated as a residual amount of municipal waste after municipal waste sent to landfill, sent for recycling (including composting) and sent to Refuse Derived Fuel has been accounted for.
