Description:

Programme and Kerry Community Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services (HSE South) to provide children with developmental coordination disorder and dyspraxia the chance to take part in a Ball Skills Coaching Camp Programme. This programme provides gaelic football skills training to children, who may not have had the opportunity to participate in GAA at a community level due to coordination difficulties & lack of confidence/support.

• To provide additional GAA skill training for children with developmental coordination disorder and dyspraxia.

• To provide opportunities for trainees of Sporting Chance programme to utilise their coaching skills and gain experience

The programme is supported by the Kerry County Board and has donated a number of first touch footballs for the programme.

To date the Gaelic Football Skills Coaching Camp programme has been implemented in Tralee, on a monthly basis, which commenced in March 2009. Up to 50 boys and girls from all over the County have benefitted from this very successful joint programme roll out.
