Additional physical activity sessions may be offered to the group after the programme to help sustain improvements in physical activity levels. The programme has had positive results and as well as being enjoyable, young people have benefited by becoming more physically active, improving their eating habits and boosting their self-esteem. Results show they have also prevented weight gain and improved their shape.Parents are encouraged to attend some sessions and can take part in a nutrition education and cooking skills programme to help them support dietary changes at home.    FRESH is funded by the Public Health Agency and is co-ordinated by the Community Nutrition and Dietetic Service in partnership with a range of other HSC Trust departments, local Councils, Sport NI, Education and Community organisations.
