Description:

The Family Resources Survey is a continuous annual survey that collects information on the incomes and circumstances of private households in the United Kingdom (or Great Britain before 2002-03). The survey is sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Whilst it was designed with the DWP's needs specifically in mind, it contains information which will be of interest to researchers and analysts from a wide range of disciplines in both the public and private sectors. Household characteristics (including size, type tenure, etc.); household income (including benefit receipt, unearned income, etc.); housing costs (rent, mortgages, etc.); individuals' characteristics (ethnic origin, employment status, etc.); information on careers and disability; assets and savings; pensions; consumer durables. This survey has a Northern Ireland component since 2002.
