The Health Development Agency (HDA) has developed a training programme for coordinators of the 5 A DAY fruit and vegetable community initiatives. In developing the training programme, the HDA perceived a need for support in identifying appropriate evaluation toolkits and validated indicators for use by community food projects. The aims of this research were to:
• Map and collate evaluation resources – guides, toolkits, training courses and websites, and validated indicators
• Prepare a description of each resource and validated indicator using standard criteria and a proforma
• Identify gaps in the resources and indicators currently available, and make recommendations for further work to support evaluation and monitoring for community food projects
