This indicator is intended to measure met need for knee or hip replacements.

Numerator: Hospital Inpatient Enquiry (HIPE), 2011

Denominator: Census of Population 2011

Includes primary and secondary diagnoses. Values for less than five cases in a particular combination of age, sex, and area were not disclosed and a random value between 1 and 4 was assigned.

RoI admissions do not include admissions to private hospitals.
