Description:

This study estimates the economic burden of stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA) in Ireland in the year 2007. This is a prevalence-based study, aggregating stroke-related costs over a one year period for all those who develop or already have the disease. The definition of stroke includes cases with subarachnoid haemorrhage, intracerebral haemorrhage, and cerebral infarction.
