Creator:

Belfast Healthy Cities

Type: Collection/Project
Region: Republic of Ireland
Northern Ireland
Description:

The HIA programme aims to increase understanding of the concept and integrate it as a systematic framework in organisations that enables them to take account of health in decision making processes. Training in HIA will be provided to organisations implementing Investing for Health, and the programme also involves conducting a series of health impact assessments to act as demonstration projects.

It is intended the HIA programme will be closely linked to work on healthy urban planning, which is a concept aiming to make the needs of people a central consideration in spatial planning.
