We are pleased to publish SEPHOâ?Ts Peer Review Report resulting from the review process run by I&DeA in February 2009.

The initial feedback from I&DeA showed that SEPHO had prepared well and set a high benchmark for future reviews. The process provided SEPHO with a positive critique on its performance and development to date, even before the final report was published, and assisted us in identifying the next steps in improving and developing our services. The final report provided us with useful guidance in relation to our strategic development, whilst highlighting the fact that we are well positioned for growth.

The final report has been considered by the SEPHO Commissioning Group and an action plan drawn up in response to the 14 recommendations made in the report has now been agreed.

It is our intention to develop and implement the following actions in response to the Peer Review Report in line with our strategy for development:

â?¢ A statement of Purpose for SEPHO for communication alongside that of Supporting Public Health (SPH) our parent body.
â?¢ SEPHO will be undertaking a stakeholder survey in the autumn to inform our strategy. The resource requirements for ongoing stakeholder engagement will be addressed as part of this work.
â?¢ SEPHO has already begun work in the development of a strategy which addresses longer term growth and diversification whilst protecting and developing the SEPHO core programme.
â?¢ SEPHO will be improving the ongoing process of working with our stakeholders across the region to identify their information needs.
â?¢ SEPHO will continue to develop its work programme in consultation with the SEPHO Commissioning Group, and will develop this further to include input from PCTs following the consultation exercise aimed at developing closer links with the PCTs.
â?¢ SEPHO will continue its programme to develop a talented and expert workforce.
â?¢ The existing quality assurance policies and processes will be incorporated under a broader SPH QA policy umbrella based on good practice.

Kind regards,

Alison Hill
