The Department of Health Science & Human Ecology, California State University, San Bernardino is accepting applications for a tenure-track position as assistant professor in health care management and public health.

California State University, San Bernardino (a Hispanic serving Institution) is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire, 60 miles East from Los Angeles. CSUSB offers programs through the colleges of Arts and Letters, Business and Public Administration, Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences and operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley. CSUSB serves approximately 20,700 students and offers 47 undergraduate, 35 graduate and one doctoral degree as well as 13 programs with national accreditation.

Typical Activities
Teaching responsibilities could include undergraduate and/or graduate courses in healthcare management and public health, with emphasis on core courses such as biostatistics, research methods, grant writing, epidemiology, and health economics/financial systems. The appointee will be expected to advise undergraduate and graduate students, as well as supervise undergraduate and graduate student research projects. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:

University-level teaching effectiveness in the areas of health care management and public health, with emphasis on core courses such as biostatistics, research methods, grant writing, epidemiology, and health economics/financial systems.
Experience in and commitment to teaching, learning, scholarship, collaboration, and potential for mentoring that includes interdisciplinary collaboration, social justice, multicultural, and global perspectives and applications.
Ability to design, teach, and evaluate graduate and undergraduate courses in traditional, online, and hybrid formats.
Ability to contribute to the development, maintenance, and continued accreditation as well as quarter-to-semester conversion/transformation of departmental programs.
Record of peer-reviewed publications/presentations and potential for obtaining grants and external funding.
Membership, active participation, and demonstrated potential for leadership in professional organizations.
Professional experience in settings outside of academia, such as, agencies or institutions related to healthcare/public health professions.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in health care management, public health, or a closely related discipline. ABD candidates will be considered but the terminal degree must be received by the appointment date.
