Assistant or Associate Professor Department of Public Health Sciences Director, Center for Occupational and Environmental Health

The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level with expertise in occupational or environmental epidemiology, a record of research as evidenced by extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications, and experience in teaching graduate students. This is a full-time, state-supported, tenure track appointment. An M.D. /M.P.H and/or a doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D. or Dr.P.H.) in a relevant field is required. The candidate must have experience with population-based occupational or environmental epidemiology. Special preference will be given to applicants with experience addressing health and safety of immigrants or agricultural workers, global environmental or occupational health issues, and environmental influences on health and development of children, racial, ethnic or socioeconomically disadvantaged communities, or other vulnerable populations.

Expected Qualifications:
1. PhD, DrPH, or MD/M.P.H. in a relevant field is required.
2. Ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment
3. Research experience as a principal investigator or co-investigator and/or substantial experience on extramurally funded projects documented by publications
4. Potential to foster development of focused areas of occupational and environmental health with preparation and submission of grant/contract proposals
5. Ability to maintain a leadership role in conducting research and identifying and obtaining extramural funding
6. Potential to develop and teach courses in occupational and environmental health or epidemiology, and mentor graduate students and trainees in public health, epidemiology, and related fields
7. Ability to provide intellectual and administrative leadership to the COEH
8. Experience participating in service activities including committee appointments, public or community service
